Process

The Strategy and Planning Workshop produces the definition of what are the known or expected processes, organizational, or architectural impediments facing the Business Intelligence and Reporting program. Furthermore, known assets within our clients are assessed for their business value relative to the targeted reporting capabilities. Therefore, attendees are expected to have a working knowledge of the desired capabilities and potential reporting solution usages. This three-day session is conducted in a collaborative and interactive fashion with key members of our client’s staff.

The ‘Storyboarding’ technique uses an alternate analysis of the SWOT input to produce actionable outcomes of a strategic planning activity. The difference between the traditional approach to SWOT and the Storyboarding approach is in the presentation and analysis, which is based on:

  • Establishing the ‘Driving Charter’ for the organization:
  • Application of Strengths in a focused and diligent manner to achieve organizational objectives (represented by the Opportunities).
  • Acknowledging the ‘Organizational Hurdles’ to success, represented by the patterns of Weaknesses.
  • Governing the plans to monitor and mitigate risk as defined by the true Critical Success Factors (CSF).
  • Discovered by the correlation between an existing ‘Organizational Hurdle’ (Weakness) and a perceived and/or potential Threat being realized.

Deliverables

Zencos’ Strategic Roadmap and Plan is the direct result of the Program Strategy and Planning Workshop and includes the following content:

  • Introduction – describes the purpose, background, and reading guide for the document.
  • Executive Summary – Providing a one page overview of the session results.
  • Business Intelligence Vision - Business and domain context (the process, organization, and architecture) for the organization.
  • Findings & Recommendations – Critical Success Factor-based assessment and Risk Mitigation Strategies relevant to the success of the BI program.
  • Workshop Results.
  • Other pertinent reference materials.
